This summer, some friends and I (Tim) visited Ross Lake to hike for a few days. The park that encompasses it, North Casecades National Park, is so amazingly gorgeous that a few of us decided to come back and do some car camping with our families.
One of the things that makes North Cascades so amazing is how little it’s known. It is breath-takingly gorgeous, has world-famous mountains and hikes, and yet is not anywhere near as well-known as Yosemite, or Yellowstone, or even other parks here in Washington. It’s the type of park you can visit a few times every year for decades and still feel like you know very little about it.
