Oma and Opa come for a Visit

The end of the school year is approaching, and Oma & Opa visited us for a spell. Opa came out for the better part of a week, and Oma for 2+ weeks. We told them both that thaey need to extend their stays next time. What a bunch of fun.

When most people visit, its stressful because you want to make their visit relaxing and that is a taxing thing. But when good friends- and, especially, family- visit, they make you MORE relaxed because, no matter what you’re up to or how the house looks, their presence made everything better.

There are so many highlights its almost pointless to recount them all, but it’s worth mentioning a few. Opa’s seventieth birthday is next week, so we celebrated with him on a night downtown. We also went on a special day trip to Lake Quinault on the Olympic Penninsula (see pictures below)- a breathtaking experience. But the biggest blessing was having Oma with us for such long time. She made the house more calm and run more smoothly. It was a real pleasure having her and it’s never long enough when she comes.

As you can see from the picture above, her grandchildren love seeing her!
