We BOUGHT a HOUSE!!!!

We, the Knorthwest Kniffins, are about to embark upon a historic journey (extra points if you can tell what movie this is from).

In the last 5 years, we’ve gotten married and had children.  We’ve also settled into careers.  After those two, one of the things they say that qualifies as a pretty big commitment is buying a place to live in.  Well, we found one, and I don’t think it’s an exaggeration to say it’s our dream house.  We hope to live in this house for a very, very long time.

Here it is: 4418 39th ave, Seattle, WA (Here is the Zillow Link)

There’s so much to say, it almost seems too much to put into one post!!!!… but here are the basics: Cyn  & I spent ~6 months looking for homes (starting at the end of last year) and had our hearts set on this one, in the Genessee neighborhood.  It would take pages and pages to describe all that we loved about the house, but it’s safe to say that this was the best of the 100s that we looked at.

Below is a map of where it is, along with some perks of the neighborhood its in:

The big thing to know about this house needed a LOT of work, and we couldn’t afford to buy it and then also put $100k into it.  So we found a loan that put both the cost of the house and the improvements into one lump sum… and we bought it!  That means that we will spend the next ~4 months of our lives putting a lot of work into the house.  this will likely be one of the biggest and most significant projects we’ve put energy into it.  But we hope to move in around Christmas this year- january of next year.

Because it’s such a big and significant thing, we will keep you updated of all the improvements to the house we’re making as they get made.

And, if you’re reading this it means that you’re important to us.  We hope you come visit us at the house some day. 🙂
