Today marks an incredibly important day. Aside from all the “obvious biggies” (births, anniversaries, etc), this is pretty much the most important day I can think of for this family’s entire existence.
That’s because this family began 10 years ago, today. Ten years ago today, around 7pm at night, I met Cindy Impola for the first time at a friend’s Christmas party. I came to the Northwest from the Midwest ten years ago this last January, and then met a girl a few months later. And things continued, steadily, until engagement and marriage became the natural thing to do for two people so complementary, affectionate, and fit for each other.
Some people mark important days by commitments made (anniversaries, engagements, etc). But to us, it’s always more relevant when we met. that’s when things began, and they seem to have gained a momentum of their own since then. All the amazing things that have happened: engagement, marriage, 4 homes, 6 jobs, 2 kids, 2 cities… etc… seem to flow naturally from the incident of meeting each other.
What a difference a decade makes! and yet, I don’t think I’ve had a better 10 years of my life.
Here’s to many more decades
