Abbey’s birthday party

Abbey’s birthday parties, because she was born in July, have always been festive occasions with great weather.  Today was no different, and we decided to take advantage of Seattle’s “Bicycle Sundays“, where they close down some of the roads near Lake Washington to allow others to bike, walk, and use the beaches.

The weather turned out perfectly: high 70s and sunny.  After the beach, we headed home for barbeque and ice cream sundaes.

It’s a beautiful thing to see so many family members make the day special for her.  We had some 35 people show up today, representing 4 generations.  Oma’s sister, Tante Liz, even happened to be in town and was here to celebrate.

Abbey was beaming at the end of the day.
